Five public companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI), respectively: PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk, PT Baramulti Suksessarana Tbk, PT ABM Investama Tbk, succeeded in achieving the title of The Best 5 Investortrust Companies 2023 held by Investortrust.id.

The success of these five issuers after going through a screening process from 787 issuers based on fundamental performance for the 2022 financial year and technical performance in June 2023. The fundamental performance assessment reference is based on the 2021-2022 financial year from 787 issuers listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange as of June 30 2023. Apart from the 5 issuers which won the title "The Best 5 Investortrust Companies 2023", awards were also given to 11 issuers with the best performance in their respective sectors and 3 new initial public offering (The Best IPO) issuers with the best technical and fundamental performance from 2022 to June 2023.

The achievements of these companies were recorded amidst a trend of recovery in the performance of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) semi-tenant between the 2021-2022 financial year. Even though the threat of a global crisis still haunts us, issuers have been able to overcome the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This is proven by the recorded profit of IDX issuers in the 2022 financial year which increased by 83.4% to IDR 715.56 trillion, compared to the previous year's IDR 390.18 trillion. A total of 583 issuers managed to achieve profits in 2022, an increase from 572 issuers the previous year.

The total profit value of these 583 issuers in 2022 will actually reach IDR 806.3 trillion, an increase from the previous year's IDR 535.34 trillion. However, accumulated profits started to decline because in 2022 there were 198 issuers who still suffered losses of IDR 90.63 trillion, a decrease from 2021 when 209 issuers suffered losses with accumulated losses of IDR 145.16 trillion.

The recovery of issuers' performance in the midst of a prolonged crisis is the jury's consideration in this year's assessment process. Considering these factual conditions, the Jury agreed to set the theme: "Corporate Agility to withstand prolonged volatility" to serve as an assessment reference in determining The Best Investortrust Companies 2023 which will be held by Investortrust.id.

Chairman of the Jury, The Best Investortrust Companies 2023, Prof Roy Sembel Ph.D, said, after an era of disruption and crisis challenges due to the pandemic, issuers are faced with the impact of the global crisis. During this series of crises, the majority of issuers have demonstrated proven resilience or agility.

"If you look closely, the companies that succeeded in becoming the best this year are more varied in terms of the business sector they are involved in. So it's not because the sector is benefiting from a positive trend. "These companies have been fundamentally proven to have agility, which is also reflected in the performance of their respective shares," said Prof Roy Sembel.

The jury also paid attention to the issuer's commitment to developing the quality of human resources, the environment and corporate social responsibility/CSR. Points regarding the implementation of good corporate governance (GCG) should be an integral part of company operations. This is also a concern for issuers in assessing companies before placing funds in these companies.

"From the issuers we assessed, especially in the Best 5 group, it is clear that they not only have a planned program for implementing ESG but it has become part of the company's operations. "There are issuers who have adopted high standards in implementing ESG, and can be said to be excellent," said member of the jury, Lily Widjaja, who has been paying intense attention to the implementation of ESG among issuers.
